With a career that spans senior roles in universities and global projects focused on inclusion and innovation, she brings a wealth of experience to conversations about gender and health. As Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of East London, Professor Broderick has championed real-world research and community impact.

 

Professor Helen Weiss

Affiliation: Centre for Global Mental Health, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine

Professor Helen Weiss is a leading researcher in global health, with a special focus on mental health and wellbeing in low- and middle-income countries. In her role at the Centre for Global Mental Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, she works to better understand how social and cultural factors shape health outcomes. Professor Weiss has a long-standing interest in gender and adolescent health.

 

Deborah Garlick

Deborah Garlick is the founder of Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace, one of the UK’s leading voices in raising awareness and driving change around menopause and women’s health at work. Through her work, Deborah has supported countless organisations in creating inclusive, supportive environments where conversations about menstrual and menopausal health are normalised. Passionate about breaking taboos and equipping people with practical tools and knowledge, she brings a wealth of experience in policy, training, and advocacy.

Professor Toby Richards

Professor Toby Richards

Affiliation: Department of Allied and Public Health at the University of East London, Consultant Surgeon and Professor of Surgery at University College London, and Director of The Iron Clinic

Professor Toby Richards is a consultant surgeon and academic dedicated to improving health outcomes through innovative, patient-focused research. He contributes to advancing education and research in public health and clinical science. His work focuses on iron deficiency, blood health, and their impact on menstruation and overall wellbeing. 

Faye Farthing

Affiliations: Head of Campaigns & Communications, Endometriosis UK

Faye Farthing is the Head of Communications and Campaigns at Endometriosis UK, where she leads efforts to raise awareness, influence policy, and improve the lives of those affected by endometriosis. Her work focuses on breaking down stigma, driving systemic change, and ensuring menstrual health is recognised as a public health priority.

Manjit Gill

Affiliations: Founder & CEO at Binti

Manjit K Gill has over 20 years of business expertise under her belt and has been involved in 7 startups prior to Binti. Her flair for finding opportunities has taken her around the world and she has international experience in the business arena. Her role as a mentor for a business woman in Kenya with the Cherie Blair Foundation led her to start this project. Her mission is to create a huge, social impact whilst generating a sustainable organisation. As a British Indian, providing basic menstrual rights for women has become her obsessive, compulsive dedication to making a change. She was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for her work in the provision of period products to women around the world. Manjit is a Trustee for the Leus Family Foundation and Global Sikh Economic Forum. She is an Ambassador for The Cherie Blair Foundation and Women of the Future.
